We are a family-owned, independent consultancy led by Dr. Cat Chan, the only veterinary oncologist worldwide to be board-certified by both the American (ACVIM) and Australian (ANZCVS) colleges, having completed specialist training in both countries. With over 13 years of specialist experience, Dr. Chan is known for her meticulous, personalised approach, her commitment to education, and her unwavering support for veterinary colleagues.

What We Do
Remote Oncology Consultation Reports
Comprehensive written cancer consultation reports to veterinarians worldwide, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm AEST.
All reports are personally prepared by Dr. Cat Chan and individually tailored to your patient, client, and clinic.

We offer individually tailored chemo protocols, drug information sheets and client handouts, to support your practice.
Chemotherapy training manuals, reconstitution and storage times, safety guidelines on handling cytotoxic drugs and bodily excreta, demonstration videos, step-by-step guides, and many other resources to help you and your veterinary team along the way.
Consumables & Drug Supply
Order chemotherapy consumable packs, and selected oral chemotherapy drugs at reduced rates directly through our veterinary-only online shop.
We can assist with sourcing anti-cancer drugs and supplies, no matter where you are in the world. We work closely with trusted veterinary industry partners and suppliers to ensure you have what you need to deliver safe, effective care.
How It Works?

2) Receive Your Report:
We’ll review your case and email a detailed, evidence-based report within your selected turnaround time.
3) Follow-Up & Ongoing Advice:
Ongoing support and follow-up consults are available as needed.

INITIAL CONSULTATION REPORT: - Sample Report
Standard: 3 business days – $300
Urgent: 1-2 business days – $350
Priority: Same-Day – $450
(Excludes after-hours, weekends, public holidays)
REVIEWS:
Follow-Up: $100 per contact
(Email or phone advice, reviewing results, urgent follow-ups, and ongoing case management - typically more than 15 minutes)
Brief Follow-Up: $50 per contact
(Short email or phone advice, brief queries - typically under 15 minutes)Phone calls are available for established veterinarians and current cases only, subject to availability. Please email first to arrange a call if needed.

All fees are in Australian dollars (AUD).
Payments to Australian veterinarians are subject to a 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Customers in Australia: direct deposit, direct debit or credit card.
Overseas customers: credit card or direct debit (no telegraphic transfers).
Credit card payments incur a 1.7% surcharge. All other payment types, including direct debit incur no additional fees.
Invoices are emailed at the end of the month, to the treating veterinarian/hospital, due 7 days from the date of invoice (except drug and consumable orders, which are invoiced at dispatch and due in 14 days).
Unpaid invoices >14 days after due date may incur a $10 late fee and service suspension until settled.
Veterinarians may forward invoices to their clients, but remain responsible for payments.

All consultation reports are provided via email. Our primary mode of communication is email, and we prioritise this method to ensure efficient and timely delivery of reports and follow-up advice for ongoing case management.
Phone calls for established veterinarians and current cases: $50 (<15 mins) and $100 (>15 mins). Urgent cases are prioritised. Please email to arrange a call.

Phone Support: Available for established veterinarians and current cases ($50 <15 mins, $100 for >15 mins).
For Pet Owners
In compliance with veterinary licensing legislation and legal requirements, we cannot provide direct advice to pet owners. We offer remote advice exclusively to your veterinarian, who has access to your pet's medical records and can physically examine and care for your pet. Please ask your veterinarian to contact us for specialist support.
Most pet insurance companies will cover The Pet Oncologist services. The policyholder will need to confirm the level of coverage with their insurance company.
